Dubai

Last week, our family dog went missing in Dubai’s Al Muhaisnah 1 area. He was staying with my brother’s friend temporarily, while we were out of town and he seems to have run away while the friend wasn’t home. He doesn’t know what happened. One day, he came home from work and just couldn’t find Chestnut.

He looked in the area around his home and the neighbouring areas, too, but there was no sign of our dog. I contacted one of my cousins’ who also lives in the area and told him to keep a lookout, too.

I even contacted the municipality and some shelters. The municipal officials told me to leave my contact details with them. They were going to track him by the microchip, but till date, there has been no update.

We then made ads and posted them on Twitter, Snapchat and Instagram. My friends have also been sharing the same on their social media accounts and spreading the word. In fact after having seen the ad, we got a call from someone who had just bought a dog that looked like our Chestnut. He assumed that the person he had bought it from must have found our dog and sold him to make some money. But, it wasn’t him.

Chestnut is a Cocker Spaniel who is microchipped and vaccinated. He is less than a year old and responds to his name. He is light brown in colour and wears a blue collar. He has long ears and a white patch on his head and the texture is different from the rest of his coat. It is almost like when a person wears a cap for long and his or hair becomes wavy.

He likes having someone around to play with, be it another dog or person. He is quite hyper and friendly and is constantly seeking attention, too. Chestnut is partly trained, he can sit and lay down. He is extremely attentive. If he even sees a fly, he will chase after it.

Lastly, he is also quite expressive. You can tell whether he is happy or sad by just looking into his eyes. Your heart melts when he looks at you! We really hope someone finds him. If you have come across a dog that looks like Chestnut, please get in touch with us at shammaalmuhairi2211@gmail.com.
