It is maybe time to splurge on a non-vegetarian dish as prices of chicken, most fish variety, shrimp and lamb all dropped, and the cost of most fruits and vegetables stayed in check!

For those non-vegetarians out there, you would be glad to know that the cost of a kilo of chicken slipped by 90 fils to Dh13 from Dh13.9. So if in the mood for rustling up a chicken salad, it would be a cost-effective choice.

On the other hand, if craving some seafood-based cuisine, the good news is that Salmon has gotten cheaper on Monday, costing Dh5 lesser for a kilo of the protein-rich fish. The fish now costs Dh34.9, from Dh39.9 yesterday.

More types of fish got cheaper, with the cost of Seabream fish reducing to Dh32.9 from Dh37, about Dh4.1 lower compared to yesterday. Also, a kilo of small shrimp was cheaper too. It now costs Dh31.9 from Dh38.9 yesterday, dropping by Dh7. But the price of Hamour rose to Dh63 from Dh45.9, up Dh17.1 compared to yesterday.

After staying steady for weeks on end, the price of a kilo of lamb meat from Pakistan now costs Dh34.9 versus Dh37.7 on Sunday - a difference of Dh2.8.

Among fruits, bananas were 50fils cheaper per kilo, now costing Dh3.5 from Dh4 earlier. The price of most vegetables continue to stay steady, but onions got slightly pricier by 30fils. A kilo of onions now cost Dh1.8 from Dh1.5 earlier.

For a kilo of lemon the cost is now Dh5, compared to Dh4 yesterday, and now costs as much as Dh6. The cost of lime however dropped by Dh1.2 from Dh5 to Dh3.8
