The best friends have planned to meet on June 27, 2025

Do you believe in serendipity? Well, these two best friends do.
On December 27, 2023, Erin Jackson and her family met Sue and Dominique at a cosy Brooklyn restaurant. Though strangers, they felt an instant closeness, promising to meet exactly one year later at the same spot—no phone numbers exchanged, no last names shared, just trust and a bit of faith.
Fast forward to December 27, 2024. In a video posted by Erin Jackson on her Instagram, it was revealed that the group kept their promise to each other. The emotional reunion, captured on video, has since gone viral with over 2.8 million views and countless comments celebrating their friendship.
“A year ago we met this woman, Sue, at a restaurant and we felt like soulmates. We agreed to meet up again one year later for dinner at the same place, but we never exchanged phone numbers or personal information to contact each other. I didn’t even know her last name,” the caption read.
“So today, we flew back to NYC for dinner with Sue because we promised we would, desperately hoping that she would show up, too.”
The video shows Erin and her family’s journey from taking a flight to Brooklyn on December 27, walking up to the restaurant and finally meeting Sue and Dominique.
In the video, Erin shares, "So we had no way to communicate. Just a promise to a stranger. Well today is December 27.”
Both Erin and Sue beam with joy, while Sue jumps with excitement.
The internet gushed over the video, leaving several comments saying this was “the most special thing” they have seen.
One comment read, “The fact that you weren’t a NYC local makes this meet up even more special.”
Another user commented, “This is so wonderful. I’m glad you were actually able to hold to it. We could all use this kind of little magic.”
The video also shows Erin and Sue praising each other. They even call each other best friends, or as Sue said, “We’re best friends forever.”
Their next dinner is already set for June 27, this time with the comfort of staying in touch through exchanged numbers—a reminder that serendipity can lead to lasting connections.
