Mortars from Gaza strain ceasefire with Israel
Occupied Jerusalem: Hamas fighters from the Gaza Strip fired two mortar shells into southern Israel on Friday, an Israeli police spokesman said.
The spokesman said the shells landed in a farming community near the border with the Gaza Strip and caused no casualties.
The latest attack further strained a week-old truce as Israelis and Palestinians traded blame for violations of the ceasefire deal that Egypt had brokered.
On Thursday, Palestinian fighters in the Gaza Strip fired a makeshift rocket into southern Israel in response to an Israeli army raid that killed at least one person.
