Liberation of Palestine closer after fall of Gaddafi

Gaza: The Islamic Jihad in Gaza has congratulated the people of Libya on their victory against Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi's regime.
 
"We congratulate the Libyan revolutionists for their victory over injustice," Khader Habib, a senior leader of the group said during a press conference.

"This victory makes Arabs and Muslims one step closer to liberating Palestine in the  Al Aqsa mosque," he added.

Both the Palestinian Authority and the Palestinian Liberation Organization recognise Libya's National Transition Council as representatives of the Libyan people.

Hamas also expressed support for the Libyan people saying they have the right to elect their leaders democratically.
