Israel denies killing Hamas fighter

Gaza: A Hamas militant was killed and another critically injured in an explosion in the Gaza Strip on Thursday in what the group said was an Israeli attack, but the Israeli army denied any involvement.

Hamas officials the militant was killed by an Israeli attack on a shed in a field east of Gaza City.

An Israeli army spokesman said the military had not carried out an attack.

Hamas officials said the gunmen had been hiding in the shed scouting Israeli troop positions.
