US President Donald Trump said on social media Monday that Israel and Iran have agreed to a “complete and total ceasefire” to be phased in over 24 hours. It is unclear yet how the latest developments will impact possible ceasefire agreements.

UN chief urges Israel and Iran to respect the ceasefire

Secretary-General Antonio Guterres welcomed US President Trump’s announcement of a ceasefire and said the fighting must stop.

“The people of the two countries have already suffered too much,” he tweeted on X.

As for the war in Gaza, UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said the United States, Qatar and Egypt have been able to achieve limited ceasefires between Israel and Hamas.

“It is high time that leaders on both sides find the political courage to put a stop to this carnage,” he said

Iran will reopen its airspace tonight after a 12-day closure, state-affiliated Nour News reported, though it did not specify an exact time.

However, the spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Roads and Urban Development stated that no final decision had been made yet, according to the same report.

Earlier, aviation tracker Flightradar24 noted that Iranian airspace was open to international arrivals and departures to and from Tehran, subject to prior permission.

Flights to resume without restrictions in Israel after ceasefire

Israel's airport authority said Tuesday that all flights in the country will resume after the country's military lifted restrictions linked to the war with Iran as a fragile ceasefire took hold.

"Following the Home Front Command's decision in the last hour regarding the lifting of restrictions, the airports authority announces the return to full activity for the Ben Gurion and Haifa airports," the authority said in a statement.

Iran president announces 'end of 12-day imposed war'

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian announced the "end of the 12-day war" imposed by Israel, in a message to the nation carried by the official IRNA news agency on Tuesday.

"Today, after the heroic resistance of our great nation, whose determination makes history, we are witnessing the establishment of a truce and the ending of this 12-day war imposed by the adventurism and provocation" of Israel, Pezeshkian said.

Israel's focus 'shifts back to Gaza' after Iran war

Israel's focus will shift back to its fight against Palestinian militant group Hamas in Gaza after a ceasefire ended 12 days of war with Iran, the country's military chief said on Tuesday.

"Now the focus shifts back to Gaza - to bring the hostages home and to dismantle the Hamas regime," chief of staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir said in a statement shared by the army.

Israel says lifting domestic restrictions linked to Iran war

Israel's military said Tuesday it was lifting restrictions on public gatherings, workplaces and education resulting from the war with Iran after a ceasefire brought a fragile end to 12 days of conflict.

"Following the situational assessment and the approval of Minister of Defence, Israel Katz, it was determined that as of today (Tuesday), at 20:00... all areas of the country will shift to full activity without restriction," the military said in a statement, adding that the guidelines will be effective until Thursday evening.

Israel set back Iran nuclear project 'by years': Military chief

The head of Israel's military said on Tuesday that the country had set back Iran's nuclear programme "by years" during 12 days of strikes and the campaign against the country was now "entering a new phase".

"We have concluded a significant phase, but the campaign against Iran is not over. We are entering a new phase based on the achievements of the current one," Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir said in a statement.

"We've set Iran's nuclear project back by years, and the same applies to its missile program."

Iran partially reopens airspace to international flights, FlightRadar24 says

Iran has partially reopened its airspace to international flights after reaching a ceasefire with Israel following nearly two weeks of conflict, CNN reported, citing aviation tracker FlightRadar24.

“Iranian airspace is now open to international arrivals and departures to/from Tehran with prior permission,” FlightRadar24 said in a post on X.

The platform also confirmed that Iraqi airspace has reopened.

US strikes on Iran add to global travel disruptions

The US entry into Israel’s war with Iran caused travel disruptions to pile up globally this week, with flight cancellations continuing Tuesday.

Airports and skies throughout the region have been on edge since Israel began the deadly war on June 13. And in the days following the escalatory US strikes, more and more carriers cancelled flights, which sit just across the Arabian Gulf from Iran.

Qatar Airways said its flights were suspended because of Monday’s closure of air traffic in Qatar. Qatar Airways shared that it was working to restore operations after the country’s airspace reopened — but noted that disruptions may continue through Thursday.

Emirates suspended all flights to Iran and Iraq, including those serving Baghdad and Basra, through June 30.

Elsewhere, Singapore Airlines, British Airways and Dutch carrier KLM were among firms cancelling some flights to Middle Eastern airports.

US arrests 11 Iranians for alleged immigration violations

US immigration authorities have arrested 11 Iranian nationals for allegedly being in the country illegally, the Department of Homeland Security said.

The agency also reported the arrest of one US citizen accused of harbouring one of the individuals.

UAE, Iranian Presidents discuss latest regional developments

UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received a phone call today from Dr Masoud Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, during which Sheikh Mohamed welcomed the announcement of a ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel. 

He expressed his hope that the agreement would serve as a foundation for enhancing stability, security and peace across the Middle East.

President Pezeshkian thanked Sheikh Mohamed for the UAE's position and solidarity with the Islamic Republic following the Israeli military's targeting of its territory.

Iran president says will respect ceasefire if Israel does

Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian said Tuesday that it will respect a ceasefire announced by US President Donald Trump provided that Israel also upholds its terms.

"If the Zionist regime does not violate the ceasefire, Iran will not violate it either," Pezeshkian said during a phone conversation with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, according to the presidency's website.

Israel says 'refrained' from further strikes on Iran after Trump call

Israel "refrained" from further strikes on Iran on Tuesday after a call between US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Netanyahu's office announced.

Trump had angrily accused both Iran and Israel of violating the ceasefire he had announced late on Monday but hours later he posted that it was now in effect.

"Following President Trump's conversation with Prime Minister Netanyahu, Israel refrained from further strikes," a statement said.

Trump says doesn't want 'regime change' in Iran

US President Donald Trump said Tuesday he didn't want to see "regime change" in Iran amid its conflict with Israel, adding that it would cause "chaos."

"If there was, there was, but no I don't want it. I'd like to see everything calm down as quickly as possible," Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One. "Regime change takes chaos, and ideally we don't want to see so much chaos."

Iran paramilitary Basij force senior commander killed in Israeli strike

Iranian media reported Tuesday that an Israeli strike the day before had killed a senior commander of Iran's Basij paramilitary force, linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

"The commander of Basij counterintelligence protection forces was martyred in a Zionist regime attack," the Fars news agency said, citing a statement from the IRGC.

Iran media report explosions in country's north

Several Iranian media outlets reported on Tuesday afternoon the sound of explosions in the country's north, after US President Donald Trump said an Iran-Israel ceasefire was now "in effect".

The Etemad and Ham Mihan newspapers said explosions were heard and air defences were activated in Babol and Babolsar, two towns about 200 kilometres (124 miles) northeast of Tehran on the Caspian Sea.

The source of the explosions was not immediately clear.

Israeli army radio reports strike on Iranian radar

Iranian media reported hearing two loud explosions in Tehran, according to the country’s judiciary news outlet Mizan and the Shargh newspaper, Reuters reported. The outlets also said that the northern city of Babolsar was under attack.

Meanwhile, Israel's Army Radio claimed that the Israeli military had carried out a strike on an Iranian radar installation near Tehran.

Trump says Iran-Israel ceasefire now 'in effect'

A ceasefire between Iran and Israel is now "in effect", US President Donald Trump said Tuesday, moments after he accused both countries of violating the truce.

"ISRAEL is not going to attack Iran. All planes will turn around and head home, while doing a friendly 'Plane Wave' to Iran. Nobody will be hurt, the Ceasefire is in effect!" Trump posted on his Truth Social platform, shortly after telling reporters at the White House that he was "really unhappy" with Israel for breaking the deal.

Qatar says to take 'diplomatic and legal' action against Iran

Qatar's prime minister said Doha will pursue "diplomatic and legal measures" against Tehran following an Iranian attack on the US Al Udeid base hosted in the Gulf state.

"The violation of Qatar's sovereignty is unacceptable, and all diplomatic and legal measures will be taken. We hope that the matter will be contained as soon as possible and that this chapter will be behind us," Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani said.

French president says Israel-Iran conflict 'volatile'

French President Emmanuel Macron cautioned that the situation surrounding the Israel-Iran conflict remained "unstable" despite US President Donald Trump's ceasefire declaration.

"The situation clearly remains volatile and unstable. I think it's a very good thing that President Trump is calling for a ceasefire," Macron told reporters during a visit to Norway.

Noting reports of missiles having been fired after the ceasefire announcement, the French president said that "the last few minutes have shown that the situation remains very fragile".

Macron also said that "one of the main risks for the region and the international community" was that Iran would attempt to enrich uranium covertly.

"This risk has indeed increased with what has happened recently," Macron told reporters, adding that "we must absolutely prevent Iran from going down this path".

Trump says both Israel and Iran violated the ceasefire

US President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning to Israel on his Truth Social platform, urging it not to proceed with military action.

In his post, Trump wrote: “ISRAEL. DO NOT DROP THOSE BOMBS. IF YOU DO IT IS A MAJOR VIOLATION. BRING YOUR PILOTS HOME, NOW!”

His message comes hours after a US- and Qatar-brokered ceasefire between Iran and Israel came into effect earlier this morning.

French president says Iran situation still 'volatile'

French President Emmanuel Macron said Tuesday that the situation surrounding Iran remained "volatile" despite US President Donald Trump's ceasefire declaration.

"The situation clearly remains volatile and unstable. I think it's a very good thing that President Trump is calling for a ceasefire," Macron told reporters during a visit to Norway, adding that "the last few minutes have shown that the situation remains very fragile".

Iran says at least 610 killed since start of conflict with Israel

Iran on Tuesday said at least 610 people had been killed and over 4,700 wounded in the Islamic republic since the start of the war with Israel on June 13.

"Over the past 12 days, hospitals... have been confronted with extremely harrowing scenes," health ministry spokesman Hossein Kermanpour said on X, announcing the increase from the previously reported toll of more than 400 dead and 3,056 wounded.

Iran tells Qatar attack on US airbase 'not action' against Doha

Iran's foreign ministry spokesperson, Esmail Baqai, posted on X (formerly Twitter) that Monday's attack on the US-run Al Udeid military base 'had nothing to do with' Qatar.

Baqai said Iran's actions was an 'act of self-defence' carried out under Article 51 of the UN Charter, in response to what Tehran described as the United States' 'unprovoked aggression' against Iran's territorial integrity and national sovereignty.

He reiterated Iran's commitment to 'good-neighbourliness' policy with Qatar and other regional countries.

Post-ceasefire strikes reported by Iran

Iran's armed forces accused Israel of launching strikes at the Islamic republic until Tuesday morning, after US President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire between the two foes.

"The Zionist regime launched three waves of attacks on sites in Iranian territory until 9:00 am (0530 GMT) today," a spokesman for the armed forces command was quoted as saying on state TV, without providing further details.

Iran says taking measures to continue nuclear programme

Iran's government said Tuesday it had "taken the necessary measures" to ensure the continuation of its nuclear programme after US and Israeli strikes targeted its facilities.

"We have taken the necessary measures and are taking stock of the damage" caused by the strikes, said the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Mohammad Eslami, in a statement aired on state television.

"Plans for restarting (the facilities) have been prepared in advance, and our strategy is to ensure that production and services are not disrupted," he added.

The United States struck the Fordo, Isfahan and Natanz uranium enrichment facilities on Sunday.

Prisoners at Tehran's Evin 'transferred' after Israeli strike

Iran's prison authority has "transferred" prisoners out of Evin prison after it was hit by Israeli strikes, the judiciary said on Tuesday.

The prison authority "transferred the inmates who were serving their sentences in this prison (Evin) to other facilities within Tehran province... to safeguard the rights of the prisoners and to provide space for emergency response teams", the judiciary's Mizan Online website said.

Local media reported the process had been completed, but it was not clear how many prisoners were transferred.

Russia welcomes Iran-Israel ceasefire

Russia said on Tuesday that it would welcome a ceasefire between Iran and Israel, after both sides and US President Donald Trump announced a halt in hostilities.

"If a ceasefire has indeed been achieved, this can only be welcomed," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters, adding that Moscow hoped "that this will be a sustainable ceasefire".

Moscow provides crucial backing for Tehran, but did not swing forcefully behind its partner even as the United States launched strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities over the weekend.

Iran denies firing missiles at Israel after ceasefire announcement

Iran on Tuesday denied it launched missiles at Israel in the "last few hours", after Israel accused it of doing so following US President Donald Trump's announcement of a ceasefire.

The general staff of the Iranian army "denied the launch of missiles from Iran to the occupied territories (Israel) in the last few hours", state television reported.

Sirens in north Israel after army detects Iranian missiles

The Israeli military reported two missiles fired from Iran mid-morning on Tuesday, leading sirens to blare in the north several hours after US President Trump announced a ceasefire plan.

"Two missiles were launched from Iran and they were intercepted," a military official told AFP on condition of anonymity, with the army saying people could leave shelters around 15 minuutes after the first alert.

Trump announced a phased 24-hour ceasefire process beginning at around 0400 GMT Tuesday, which Israel said it had agreed to. Iran has not formally accepted a ceasefire.

Qatar summons Iran ambassador after attack on US base

Qatar summoned the Iranian ambassador on Tuesday after Iran attacked the major US military base on Qatari soil following American strikes on its nuclear facilities.

Iraq reopened its airspace Tuesday, 12 days after closing it amid the Iran-Israel conflict, aviation authorities said, following Israel's acceptance of a ceasefire plan announced by US President Donald Trump.

The Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority announced the "reopening of Iraqi airspace to international air traffic, following a comprehensive assessment of the security situation and coordination with relevant national and international authorities."

Citing sources, the broadcaster reported the killing of Mohammad Reza Seddighi Saber at his parents' residence in Astaneh-ye Ashrafiyeh in northern Iran.

Israeli strike kills nine in northern Iran

Iranian media on Tuesday said an overnight Israeli strike on the north of the country killed nine people, ahead of US President Donald Trump's announcement of the start of a ceasefire between Israel and Iran.

Israel rescuers say death toll from Iran strike in south rises to 4

3 dead in multi-wave Iran missile attacks

Israeli emergency services said Tuesday three people were killed and two wounded in an Iranian missile strike in southern Israel, shortly before a staggered ceasefire announced by US President Donald Trump was meant to enter force.

"Following the missile impact site in southern Israel: So far, MDA teams have pronounced the deaths of three people - Two people with moderate injuries have been evacuated to hospital, and approximately six people with mild injuries are being treated at the scene," Magen David Adom said in a statement on X.

Magen David Adom did not provide the location of the strike, although Israeli media said it occurred in southern Beersheba.

The Israeli army announced multiple waves of incoming Iranian missiles around dawn on Tuesday over a period of two hours, with sirens sounding several times in coastal hub Tel Aviv, as well as other locations in the north and south.

3 critically injured in latest strikes on Israel

After the latest strikes on Israel, Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel's emergency service, reports that three people are in critical condition, with several others wounded.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Magen David Adom (MDA) stated: 'Following the recent sirens. At the scene in southern Israel, MDA EMTs and paramedics are currently providing treatment to 3 people in critical condition—a man around 40, a woman around 30, and a man around 20, as well as 1 in moderate condition, and 5 others with minor injuries.'

Trump: Israel and Iran came to me and said, 'peace'

US President Donald Trump made a statement on his Truth Social platform, claiming that both Israel and Iran approached him seeking peace.

"Israel & Iran came to me, almost simultaneously, and said, 'peace!'" Trump wrote. "I knew the time was now. The World, and the Middle East, are the real winners!"

Neither Iran nor Israel has accepted the ceasefire publicly, though Iran signals it would halt strikes if Israel stops.

Israeli army says Iranian missiles fired at Israel 'short while ago'

Israel's military said early Tuesday that it was working to intercept Iranian missiles launched a "short while ago", without specifying the exact time of the attack.

"A short while ago, sirens sounded in several areas across Israel following the identification of missiles launched from Iran toward the State of Israel," the Israeli military said in a statement posted to Telegram around 5:00 am (0200 GMT).

Earlier, US President Donald Trump announced a staggered ceasefire between Israel and Iran would begin around 0400 GMT, with Tehran halting operations first.

No ceasefire agreement with Israel, says Iran FM

Iranian foreign minister Abbas Araghchi said on Tuesday that there was no ceasefire agreement with Israel as of now, but if it stopped its attacks then Tehran would also stop firing.

"As of now, there is NO 'agreement' on any ceasefire or cessation of military operations," Araghchi posted on social media, shortly after the US president announced a deal would begin around 0400 GMT.

Trump issues full statement on Iran strike

Trump’s full announcement on social media regarding the ceasefire:

CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE! It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE (in approximately 6 hours from now, when Israel and Iran have wound down and completed their in progress, final missions!), for 12 hours, at which point the War will be considered, ENDED!

Officially, Iran will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 12th Hour, Israel will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 24th Hour, an Official END to THE 12 DAY WAR will be saluted by the World. During each CEASEFIRE, the other side will remain PEACEFUL and RESPECTFUL.

On the assumption that everything works as it should, which it will, I would like to congratulate both Countries, Israel and Iran, on having the Stamina, Courage, and Intelligence to end, what should be called, “THE 12 DAY WAR.”

This is a War that could have gone on for years, and destroyed the entire Middle East, but it didn’t, and never will! God bless Israel, God bless Iran, God bless the Middle East, God bless the United States of America, and GOD BLESS THE WORLD!

Trump says Israel, Iran agreed to ceasefire

US President Donald Trump announced Monday evening a ceasefire between Israel and Iran that he hopes will become permanent.

“It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE (in approximately 6 hours from now, when Israel and Iran have wound down and completed their in progress, final missions!), for 12 hours, at which point the War will be considered, ENDED,” the president wrote on social media.
