COVID-19: Saudi Arabia reports 1,644 new cases, 16 deaths

This brings total number of coronavirus infections in the country to 80,185

Dubai: Saudi Arabia reported 1,644 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 80,185, the Ministry of Health announced on Thursday (May 28).

Meanwhile, the ministry reported 3,531 recoveries today, with total recoveries in the kingdom at 54,553. There are 397 cases in intensive care.

The ministry also confirmed 16 deaths, bringing the total number of deaths in the kingdom to 441.

Saudi Arabia has announced that public sector employees can resume work gradually starting Sunday, May 31.

Suspension of Umrah trips remains in effect, the Saudi Ministry of Haj and Umrah has confirmed as the kingdom is heading towards easing restrictions previously imposed to curb the spread of the new coronavirus.
