Kuwait City: The cabinet of ministers met on Monday, as per their regular schedule, to discuss a variety of issues from the health of the Emir to the latest updates regarding the COVID-19 crisis. The prime minister, Sheikh Sabah Al Khaled Al Sabah, reassured the cabinet that the Emir, Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Sabah, is in good health as they spoke via video call.
The Emir flew to the United States two weeks ago to continue his treatment, after undergoing a successful surgery in Kuwait on July 19.

Partial curfew
In addition, the cabinet of ministers agreed to extend the partial curfew as per the recommendations of the health authorities, who requested that they come up with a decision in the next few days after they have evaluated the current COVID-19 situation.
Kuwait has been under a variation of partial curfews since March 21, except for three weeks in May where the country underwent a full lockdown. The government is expected to remove the partial curfew during Stage 4, of its five-phase plan to return to normality. There has been no statement by the government as to when the country would move into Stage 4.
King Salman recovery
During the meeting, the ministers congratulated the Saudi King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz for safely leaving hospital and a successful post-surgery recovery.
COVID-19 updates
The cabinet revoked its prior discussion to prohibit Kuwaiti citizens from travelling abroad. For those looking to travel, the government requires that all citizens obtain health insurance that covers the cost of treatment abroad, for both infections and accidents.
In addition, the cabinet stressed that citizens and residents looking to travel or return to Kuwait need to perform a health check up (PCR) 72 hours before their flights and then home quarantine for 14 days after arrival.
The cabinet pointed out that those looking to travel to Kuwait from the 31 countries that are banned need to reside in a non-banned country for 14 days before travelling to Kuwait.
