Berlin: At least 20 people have been injured after a car drove into a crowd in the southern German city of Munich, the local fire service said Thursday.
"At the moment there are 20 injured, several of them seriously and some of them in a life-threatening condition," fire service spokesman Bernhard Peschke told AFP.
The Munich Security Conference is scheduled to begin on Friday, with US Vice President JD Vance and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expected to arrive later on Thursday.
According to Reuters, a large-scale police operation is ongoing near the central train station, with officers working to verify the details of the incident. A spokesperson said no further information was available.
