Educator charged with trying to kill pupil
London: A teacher was charged with the attempted murder of a 14-year-old pupil at his school.
Peter Harvey, 49, was expected to appear before magistrates on Saturday.
The science master is accused of attacking Jack Waterhouse during a physics lesson at the All Saints' Roman Catholic School in Mansfield on Wednesday.
On Friday the youngster was said to be in a 'serious but stable condition'.
Just before the alleged attack, he is thought to have intervened in a row between Harvey and a girl pupil. Police are also investigating claims that the class was singing an insulting song aimed at Harvey just before the incident.
The married teacher, who has two daughters at the school, was said to have returned to work recently after being off with stress.
