Manila: A powerful 6.8-magnitude earthquake has hit off south-eastern Philippines on Saturday morning.

The tremor struck 19 kilometres east of Barcelona village in Lingig town of Surigao del Sur province, in Mindanao, Philippines at 2024-08-02 22:23:01 (UTC), 6.23am local time a depth of 17 kilometres, according to the USGS.

There were no immediate reports of damage.
