After a video shot in Pakistan of a couple getting intimate in the backseat of a moving car on a highway sparked outrage online, a police officer took action on Tuesday, October 29.

The video was posted on Twitter on Saturday, October 26.

According to a report by Geo TV, a first information report (FIR) was registered on Tuesday by the Kot Momin police over the viral video recorded purportedly on the Lahore-Islamabad highway.

Kot Momin is a town in Punjab, Pakistan. The complaint was filed in accordance with Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) Section 294.

The case was filed on behalf of a beat officer of the National Highway and Motorway Police, Khizer Hayat, who told Kot Momin police that the video of people caught in a compromising position went viral on social media and that the incident took place in the area he patrols.

Hayat also told the police that he had identified the person on whose name the vehicle was registered and that he was a resident of Islamabad’s Blue Area, according to Geo TV. The report also states that Hayat named an unidentified woman in the case.
