Abbasi has sought a week’s time for consultations with government allies while rejecting Shah’s proposal for dissolving the government a day before completion of tenure of the current government.

Shah and Abbasi gave time-frame of one week to each other for consultations with their allies on the issue.

Later, Shah met Pakistan Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) parliamentary leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Shireen Mazari and informed them about his meeting with prime minister.

Shah told media that he met Abbasi for one hour and discussed the issue.

“I asked the prime minister that he should tell me if he has any name for a caretaker prime minister. Abbasi sought time for one week for consultations with hallied parties. He also asked names from me and I told him that opposition has not decided yet, but we will finalise before May 15,” he said.
