Parked car rolls onto highway in Kerala, major accident averted

Dubai: A major accident was narrowly averted in Mannarkkad, Palakkad district, Kerala, after a parked car unexpectedly rolled onto the national highway, causing a brief moment of panic among motorists. The incident occurred when the unattended vehicle, reportedly left on a slight incline, began moving towards the busy road.

Drivers travelling on the stretch immediately applied brakes and swerved to safety, preventing what could have been a serious multi-vehicle collision.

Residents alerted authorities, who said the mishap could have resulted from improper parking without engaging the handbrake. Fortunately, no injuries or damage were reported.

The incident has renewed calls for greater caution among vehicle owners, especially in hilly regions like Mannarkkad, where unattended vehicles can pose significant risks on busy national highway routes.
