Dubai: A woman from the Gurugram city of New Delhi was allegedly abducted at gunpoint from a shopping mall, taken to a shooting range and was raped by a Facebook friend, and three others.

According to a report by newspaper, the Times of India, an FIR (First Information Report) was filed against the accused who have been identified as Vipin Tomar, Ashish Balyan, Taranjit and Amit Munjal.

Tomar and Ashish have been arrested, while the others have absconded.

The woman, a 28-year-old embryologist had accepted a Facebook friend request from Tomar, a resident of Arifpur Kheri village in Uttar Pradesh, four years ago. She finally decided to meet Tomar upon his request on April 17, at the Pacific Mall in Gurugram, where Tomar allegedly abducted her with the help of his three friends, and took her to a shooting range.

The newspaper quoting the FIR stated that the woman claimed she was forced to dance “in a seminude state” and was taken to the accused’s home where she was forced to consume an “intoxicated drink”. She later faced “physical torture for full night only to be released the following day after which she was driven back to the Pacific Mall to be abandoned with a demand of 30 lakhs (Dh11,019,450).”

On Sunday April 21, the victim filed her complaint at the Binauli police station.

Times of India reported: “According to Additional SP, Ranvijay Singh: ‘An FIR has been filed against the four under IPC sections 376D (Gangrape), 363 (Kidnapping), 328 (causing hurt by means of poison) and 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke break of peace)’.”

He added that a medical examination of the woman could not confirm rape, observations were sent to the forensic lab for further investigation.
