The Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge stands 625m above the Beipan River in Guizhou
China is set to open the world’s highest bridge in June — the Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge — soaring 625 metres above the Beipan River in Guizhou province.
The steel-truss suspension bridge surpasses France’s Millau Viaduct, which stands at 343 metres, and also ranks as the longest high-level bridge globally.
Constructed over three and a half years using 22,000 tons of steel — roughly the weight of three Eiffel Towers — the bridge highlights China’s dominance in extreme engineering. Remarkably, 90 of the world’s 100 highest bridges are located in and around Guizhou province.
