A disturbing video of Florida deputies violently arresting 22-year-old William McNeil Jr. has ignited national outrage and renewed calls for police accountability. The cellphone footage, now viral, shows McNeil calmly sitting in his vehicle, requesting to speak with a supervisor, when Jacksonville deputies shattered his window, punched him in the face, dragged him out, and continued hitting him before pinning him to the ground.

Civil rights attorneys representing McNeil accuse authorities of falsifying their arrest report and claim the video clearly shows an act of police brutality. "This was not just excessive force — it was a gross abuse of power," one lawyer stated.

Jacksonville Sheriff T.K. Waters defended his deputies, warning the public against rushing to judgment based solely on partial footage. He cited additional bodycam video, which shows McNeil refusing to exit the vehicle after multiple requests and locking the door for approximately three minutes.

However, the released bodycam footage offers limited visibility of the punches allegedly thrown, leaving critical moments unclear. McNeil's legal team argues that no level of noncompliance justifies the physical violence captured on video.

The incident has prompted protests, legal scrutiny, and growing demands for an independent investigation into the deputies’ conduct.
