Man shot dead, woman injured near US restaurant

Leesburg, Florida: A man was shot to death and a 26-year-old woman was shot twice at a restaurant in Leesburg, according to local police.

Maj. Steve Rockefeller, an officer of the Leesburg Police Department, said the incident took place Viaport Outlet Mall outside Bojangles' restaurant.

The victims were together in a car parking lot, police said.

Two suspects drove away from the scene in a vehicle, but were stopped by police further west in Leesburg. One male suspect was detained, and another suspect ran away from the scene and is being sought by authorities.

The woman was airlifted to Orlando Regional Medical Center, the police officer said.
