New mother sits for national history exam just after delivery in northern Sudan
Dubai: A high school student in northern Sudan wrote her final exam just minutes after giving birth.
Maala Al Badri, a secondary school student in the city of Berber, went into labour less than 30 minutes before she was scheduled to sit for her national history exam.
She was rushed to a local hospital, where she delivered her first child under urgent medical care.
Moments later, still in her hospital bed and surrounded by medical staff and exam officials, Al Badri received her test papers and began writing her answers, a pen in one hand, her newborn nearby.
The extraordinary moment, supervised by local education authorities and conducted under medical and security oversight, quickly captured national attention.
Many praised the young mother’s perseverance, hailing it as an example of the strength and courage of Sudanese women in the pursuit of education, even in the most challenging circumstances.
The Ministry of Education noted that the hospital provided a calm and secure environment for Al Badri to complete her exam, ensuring her rights as a student were fully respected.
