Officials, witnesses say gunshots, explosions, echoed across a northern Nigeria city
Kano: Officials and witnesses say gunshots and explosions have echoed across a northern Nigeria city previously attacked by militants.
Kano state police commissioner Ebrahim Idris confirmed a police station had been attacked Monday night in the state capital Kano.
Witnesses also said the military attacked a home in another area as explosions were heard.
Authorities said they had no details on possible injuries in the attacks.
The strikes occurred just outside curfew hours imposed after coordinated January 20 attacks claimed by the sect known as Boko Haram left at least 185 dead.
The coordinated strike was the group's bloodiest attack on Nigeria's weak central government.
