Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi motorists can now bid for distinctive license plates with category ‘50’ to help them commemorate the UAE’s 50th year and Golden Jubilee.
An online auction will see on offer a license plate with plate number 1971, representing the year of the UAE’s formation, the Abu Dhabi Police said in a statement. Another license plate will bear the number 2021, memorializing the country’s Golden Jubilee year.
A total of 222 distinctive license plates will be up for bidding, all with Category 50, including 555 three-digit license plates and 55 two-digit license plates.
The 10-day auction is being conducted in cooperation with Emirates Auctions, and aims to support resident efforts to mark this special occasion. Interest bidders can look up the available license plates on the Emirates Auction website, or on the Emirates Auction app.
The auctioning will end on Wednesday, December 10.
As part of its announcement, the Abu Dhabi Police also expressed its warmest congratulations to the UAE leadership on the occasion of the country’s 50th National Day.
