Cyclone Nilofar will not affect UAE

Abu Dhabi: Tropical cyclone Nilofar will not directly impact the UAE, the National Meteorology and Seismology Centre said on Monday.

The storm developed in the Arabian Sea.

However, winds generated by the cyclone will cause the sea to be rough on the Oman coast from Tuesday to Thursday. This may also affect the Arabian Gulf.

In the last 24 hours, the storm has moved towards Omani coast, the centre said.

Weathermen are closely monitoring the situation.
