Now, book and get a Dubai taxi in 4 minutes

Dubai: Booking a taxi in Dubai and getting one right at your doorstep in under five minutes has never been easier, assures the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

In a video recently posted by the RTA, the authority explained exactly how the waiting time for a taxi has been reduced from 12 minutes to only four.

The RTA’s decision to expand its taxi service was caused by the ever increasing demand of residents.

“Expanding our fleet of taxis meant adding to carbon emissions and having to build more infrastructure to support more vehicles,” said the RTA.

“The best solution was to partner with Uber and Careem, two private entities, and thanks to the partnership, has reduced the waiting time down to four minutes,” it added.  

The partnership also gives customers more options since the new licensed RTA’s limousines service was offered.
