Dubai: The tram service was briefly disrupted on Wednesday night when a car smashed into a moving train at an intersection in Jumeirah Beach Residence.
The car-train smashup, reported at around 8pm, was minor and the service was resumed soon after, according to Tweeps.

Emergency workers rushed to the site and traffic at the intersection came to a standstill for several minutes.
Tweeps blamed the car's driver, saying the vehicle crossed a red light as the tram was rolling. Some drivers expressed their ire on the car driver.

The service was delayed by about 15 minutes, according to Tweeps.
No injuries were reported.
Driving through a red light without causing a tram accident could get a fine of up to Dh5,000 and withdrawal of driving license for up to three months.
Causing an accident that leads to a bodily injury could invite a fine of up to Dh15,000 and withdrawal of driving license for up to six months, according to Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority.
