Abu Dhabi: All trucks and 50-seat-passenger buses used to transport workers will not be allowed to use Abu Dhabi Island’s internal roads during the morning rush hour from 6.30am to 9am.

The resolution, which was announced by the Traffic and Patrols Directorate at the Abu Dhabi Police on Wednesday, will go into effect from Sunday, the first day of the new academic year.

Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Daheri, Director of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police, said the resolution is in line with the priority of making all roads safer.

The resolution aims to facilitate students’ access to their schools and reduce risks that might result from heavy vehicles and trucks, Al Dahiri added.
