UAE: Private sector holiday for Prophet Mohammed’s birthday announced

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation made the announcement on Monday.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has announced that Friday, 29 September, 2023 (14 Rabi al-Awwal 1445H) will be a paid public holiday for private sector employees to mark the birthday of Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him).

Traditionally, Muslims mark the 12th day of the Islamic month of Rabi Al Awwal as Milad un Nabi (Mawlid), commemorating the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), a day of significant spiritual importance in the Islamic community.
