UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan departed the Republic of Turkey today at the conclusion of his state visit.
Sheikh Mohamed arrived in Ankara earlier today on a state visit at the invitation of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of the Republic of Turkey.
Sheikh Mohamed and President Erdoğan chaired the inaugural meeting of the UAE-Turkey High-Level Strategic Council.
At the beginning of the meeting, President Erdoğan welcomed Sheikh Mohamed’s visit, stressing that it represents a significant boost to bilateral relations at all levels.
During the meeting, which took place at the Presidential Complex in Ankara, the two leaders discussed ways to enhance cooperation across various sectors that support the development priorities of both nations and serve their shared interests within the framework of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership between the UAE and Turkey.
Sheikh Mohamed and President Erdoğan reviewed the progress achieved in bilateral relations across all sectors, particularly in the areas of economy, trade, technology, and industry, as well as renewable energy and food security—key areas that contribute to accelerating sustainable development in both countries.
The talks also touched on a range of topics, including the latest regional and international developments, with particular focus on the situation in the Middle East. The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to supporting efforts aimed at advancing the regional peace process, which is essential for development and for securing a better future for current and future generations in the region.
They also highlighted the importance of adopting dialogue and diplomatic solutions to address the various crises facing the region and the world, in a way that serves the interests of all countries and their peoples.
Sheikh Mohamed affirmed the strength of UAE-Turkey relations, which are founded on mutual respect and a shared vision of promoting growth and prosperity in both countries and across the wider region. He highlighted the UAE’s keenness to deepen cooperation with Turkey and support the joint vision of both leaderships in fostering peace, security, and stability in the region for the benefit of all its nations.
Sheikh Mohamed emphasised that the High-Level Strategic Council marks a significant milestone that reflects the substantial progress made in bilateral cooperation. He also referred to its role as a vital platform for dialogue and consultation on issues of mutual interest.
President Erdoğan expressed his commitment to enhancing cooperation with Sheikh Mohamed in a manner that serves the interests of both nations and supports broader efforts to promote peace, stability, and prosperity in the region and beyond.
Later in the day, President Erdoğan hosted a lunch banquet in honour of the UAE President and his delegation. Prior to the meeting, Sheikh Mohamed was accorded an official reception and warmly welcomed by the Turkish President.
Sheikh Mohamed is accompanied by a high-level delegation that includes Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior; Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; Sheikh Zayed bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Advisor to the UAE President; and other senior officials.
