In a statement issued on Tuesday, the ministry underlined the need for the international community to respond to the growing humanitarian crisis and encounter its grave repercussions.

It called on the United Nations and its organisations to shoulder their responsibilities and duties by intervening politically and humanly to protect Rohingya Muslims from violence, displacement and collective punishment.

The ministry said the continuing tragedy of Rohingya and their human distress are absolutely unacceptable.
