Abu Dhabi: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Wednesday inaugurated the state-of-the-art UAE Presidential Guard National Service Academy at Seih Hafair Camp.
Speaking on the occasion, Shaikh Mohammad said that the UAE, under the wise leadership of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed, firmly believes in the importance of human capital to take the country into greater heights.
Shaikh Mohammad highlighted that the UAE is keen to boost its military capabilities not only by obtaining the latest advanced military equipment but also by preparing skillful military personnel able to use different types of modern weapons efficiently.
"Investing in the Emirati human capital is the real investment for the UAE and is a clear-cut approach we adopt," Shaikh Mohammad added.
Shaikh Mohammad also addressed the recruits saying: “Your dedication and bravery in battlefields reflect your loyalty to your country, a country will only develop and prosper by its own tough men who sacrifice their lives for their country like your brothers fighting in Yemen. A country’s success cannot be measured by its population, large area ... it is measured by its people’s strong will and determination," Shaikh Mohammad said.
He stressed that the UAE people are pressing ahead with loyalty to the founding fathers who made indelible marks for the future of the UAE and spared no efforts to build the country.
During the inauguration, Shaikh Mohammad toured the academy's facilities, classes and training halls and was briefed on the academy's curriculum and methods of teaching and training adopted, which use the latest technologies in the field in order to prepare recruits scientifically, intellectually and physically.
Shaikh Mohammad also toured outdoor training fields where recruits demonstrated their various skills.
He visited the military camp which features indoor accommodation, swimming pools, restaurants and well-equipped gymnasiums.
He also unveiled a plaque to mark the opening of a national service school.
Receiving Shaikh Mohammad were Lieutenant General Hamad Mohammad Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces, Brigadier Saleh Mohammad Al Amiri, Commander of the UAE Ground Forces, and Staff Pilot. Ebrahem Nasser Mohammad Al Alawi, Commander Air Force and Air Defence, as well as other commanders and senior officials.
