Mamzar, Jumeirah and Umm Suqeim 1 and 2 to have special facilities
Dubai: Beaches across Dubai have been fitted with disability-friendly facilities, a senior official announced on Wednesday.
Alya Abdul Rahim Harmoudi, director of the Environment Department at Dubai Municipality, said that access ramps for wheelchairs were installed at the beaches of Mamzar, Jumeirah and Umm Suqeim 1 and 2.
By 2020, Dubai aims to make all public services accessible to people with disabilities.
Harmoudi said that the public beaches in Dubai today has become one of the most important public facilities in the city and is a popular destination frequented by distinct annually hundreds of thousands of residents and tourists to have fun in a healthy and clean beach environment.
