Dubai: Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, on Monday unveiled a five-star plaque at the Customer Happiness Centre in the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority’s (Dewa) headquarters.

He underlined that happiness is a UAE’s lifestyle and the ultimate goal of government work. “Dubai has all the fundamentals that allow it to provide high quality government services as per the best international standards. We need to double efforts over the next period so as Dubai government positions itself in the forefront in implementing the best international practices,” Shaikh Hamdan said.

Dewa’s Customer Happiness Centre received the five-star rating as part of the second batch of Dubai Government’s Customer Happiness Centres under the Star Rating programme.

Shaikh Hamdan, accompanied by Abdullah Al Basti, secretary-general of the Executive Council, was received by Saeed Mohammad Al Tayer, CEO of Dewa.

‘The government’s role is represented in creating a motivating environment to ensure that all community members are happy-an approach that comes in line with the vision and directives of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai,” Shaikh Hamdan said.

Shaikh Hamdan said that achieving excellence requires committed efforts, which eventually results in positive feedback from the community. He further noted that the Dubai government is eager to ensure that all customer happiness centres enhance their service quality to be able to achieve five-star ratings. The rating programme motivates all centres to be more dedicated to improving quality and customer happiness.

The programme reflects the efforts of government entities to ensure the happiness and well-being of citizens and expatriate residents.
