Sharjah: The Sharjah Police General Command on Saturday announced the complete closure of the sandhill in the Al Faya area in the Central Region.

The decision followed as some people were frequently seen engaging in illegal practices in the area which often resulted in serious accidents. This may endanger their lives and the lives of families and individuals who visit the area, especially young people.

Police said they were forced to close the area as some individuals often failed to follow the security rules and instructions issued by them during awareness campaigns.

Police warned motorists who are amateurs to avoid committing such malpractices in sandy areas that pose a danger to their lives and the lives of others.

Police also urged the community members to report it immediately on the number designated for emergency cases if they see any such reckless acts.
