Abu Dhabi: Marmum Dairy, a subsidiary of Dubai Investments (DI) and a leading dairy brand in the UAE, has announced the completion of its ambitious scholarship initiative awarding Dh500,000 to students within the UAE.

Running over a period of three months from June 1 , the programme extended actual fees to 50 pupils for the year 2012-2013 with a maximum limit of Dh10,000.

“Marmum Dairy Farm has invested considerable efforts to deliver premium quality products to the region we operate in, while attempting to extend structural support to the community,” Waeel Barhaji, deputy general manager of Marmum Dairy Farm, said.

“Education is the right of every child, and a stepping stone to success for the individual and the nation. The scholarship programme is an important step towards this end,” he added.

Barhaji also pointed out that the scholarship awarding programme received wide participation from across the seven emirates, with representation from different nationalities including Emiratis, Egyptians, Lebanese, Syrian, Indians, and Pakistanis.

The winning pupils are enrolled at leading schools such as Our Own English High School, Dubai; Wesgreen International School, Sharjah; English Speaking School, Ras Al Khaimah and Al Manahil Private School, Al Ain, among others.

Marmum Dairy received an overwhelming response from participants who entered the draw by sending an alphanumerical number printed on popular products of the brand including Marmum milk and ProActiv probiotic laban.

The winners of the final draw, which was held on September 10 , are Marlin D’Souza from Dubai and Asjad Alvi from Sharjah. The winners were chosen through a fully computerised draw each week.
