Abu Dhabi: An agreement was signed to provide 89 nurses with a four-year Bachelor of Nursing and Post-Registration/Re-entry programme in the Shaikha Fatima College of Health Sciences.
The Bachelor's degree spans four years with an extra year for strengthening the students' English language skills, if needed. Plans to facilitate a total of 114 nurses is underway, confirmed officials.
The agreement was signed yesterday in the Emirates Palace Hotel between Mubarak Sayeed Al Shamisi, Director General, Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC) and Allan Cripps, University's Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Health Professor, Griffith University; an Australian based University.
Temporary facilities
Two temporary facilities under the SFCHS are temporarily available in both Abu Dhabi and Al Ain until construction work on the final buildings take place. Date of inauguration of the final premises is still under discussion. "There is also potential for future development of postgraduate programmes and nursing across the UAE," added Al Shamisi.
