People urged not to waste food during Ramadan
Dubai: The Dubai Municipality has urged people to avoid wasting food during the month of Ramadan. The civic body will also be sending awareness messages to people through smartphones, emails, radio and TV channels asking them to reduce wastage and avoid lavishness in daily purchases.
Abdul Majeed Saifaie, Director of the Waste Management Department, said the department has made all preparations, including intensified supervision, and a monitoring system has been deployed to work round the clock to cover notifications and complaints as well as oversee the workflow in different sites.
‘Apart from the regular services, we have formed an emergency team equipped with advanced facilities to receive and take action on the urgent notifications and complaints in addition to a special beach monitoring team,” said Saifaie.
