Dubai: A man has been arrested in connection with Jumeirah Village Triangle (JVT) car theft last Monday, a senior police official said.

Major General Khalil Ebrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant to Dubai Police Chief for Criminal Investigation’s Affairs told Gulf News: “In the past three years, not a single criminal incident was reported in this specific area except for the two car thefts recently.

Police have recovered one car and are searching for the other one.

Maj Gen Al Mansouri said Dubai Police is patrolling roads and areas round the clock to keep residential areas safe.

He added that the JVT being a private property has the right to hire private security services.

The car that was stolen at Jumeirah Village Triangle early on Monday was parked in front of the owner’s home. The thief replaced it with an expensive, but stolen, vehicle.
