Islamabad: The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) distributed clothes to 5,500 underprivileged children in Pakistan’s Punjab province.

Hamad Abdullah Al Ali, Director of the ERC office in Islamabad, said that the distribution was organised in coordination with the UAE Embassy to secure the delivery of clothing through direct supervision.

Humaid Rashid Al Shamsi, acting deputy secretary-general of International Aid in the ERC, said that the distribution of the clothes is part of the third phase of the campaign launched by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to provide clothing for one million children around the world.

He highlighted that the ERC office in Islamabad continues to distribute thousands of items of clothing to underprivileged children in Pakistan, especially orphans and people with special needs.
