Sharjah: A 28-year-old brain surgery patient is in critical condition after plunging from the roof of the hospital where he was operated on 15 days ago.
The Bangladeshi patient is believed to have got onto the hospital roof at around 2.30pm on Wednesday. He landed on building material, causing him to suffer fractures to his hands, legs and hip.
Al Qasimi Hospital officials said the man was critical and has been put on a ventilator.
Dr Arif Al Nooryani, CEO and head of the cardiology department at Al Qasimi Hospital, said the patient might have been suffering from hallucinations as a result of his surgery. He has been put under observation. An investigation is ongoing.
