The Abu Dhabi beach attracted a large number of excited residents during the weekend after it was opened to the public on July 2.

Singles, couples and families with children flocked to the wonderful opportunities the beach had to offer — safe swimming, various sporting activities and the relaxing combination of sand and greenery.

People are allowed to swim up to 40 metres out at sea during the day. A floating fence is placed at the boundary line to ensure the safety of the swimmers.

A different league

The beach, which is 2km long and 120 metres wide, has almost half its area — 36,000 sq m of the total 80,000 sq m of sand-covered land — adorned with beautiful landscapes.
Apart from that, the beach has about 470 palm trees that add a dash of greenery.

There are four fully equipped beach-volleyball courts, which will also do their bit in attracting visitors to this beautiful place.
Another feather in the cap is the beach park, which is about 11 hectares and houses nine buildings with resting rooms, changing rooms and hygienic and comfortable shower facilities.

Relaxing ambience

The greenery on the beach covers more than 25,000 sq m and provides a relaxing ambience.

Visitors can also indulge in enjoyable walks across the 3800-sq m wooden pathway for pedestrians.

The pathway terminates in seven showers, which visitors leaving the beach can use.

The beach witnessed a deluge of visitors from all over the UAE in the first week of its opening. There were even many who came from Dubai and Al Ain too.
