Imran Khan talks to Explore about his favourite holiday destination
‘Mauritius is an amazing place'
Imran Khan has become Bollywood's heart-throb — with legions of teenage female fans drooling over his chocolate-boy looks — ever since he stormed the screens with his lovable character in his debut flick, Jaane Tu ... Ya Jaane Na.
He is Aamir Khan's nephew but got his first film on his own, associating with writer-director Abbas Tyrewala before Aamir stepped in as the producer of the film.
With Jaane Tu ... Ya Jaane Na's success, Khan has become an overnight star.
And though he has a steady girlfriend, every girl seems to want a piece of him.
His next film, Kidnap, where he plays a character with shades of grey, will be a litmus test for his acting abilities.
His co-stars in the film are Sanjay Dutt and Minissha Lambha.
Favourite holiday destination: Mauritius
Mauritius is an amazing place, surrounded with clean, blue waters. I think the island offers best views of the Indian Ocean.
The safe beaches and mild tropical climate, combined with a legendary Mauritian hospitality, make this place a must-see.
The nice thing about Mauritius is that the majority population is of Indian descent so when it comes to culture and food, you feel very much at home.
Port Louis has many interesting places and museums, and Caudan Waterfront and Port Louis Bazaar are the most happening places to hang out.
Memorable moments in Mauritius
Well, honestly speaking, being with your close friends on the beach and having all the fun are the most cherished moments.
Not to do in Mauritius
Do not drink and get into the waters as it can be extremely dangerous.
Three must-haves on a holiday
Toothbrush, travel bag with clothes and I strictly avoid carrying a cellphone.
Any other favourite destination?
I would love to visit Australia and intend to have a great time on the beaches there.
