Goa may be India’s backpacker hotspot but it is home to a number of luxury resorts, too. Joining that list this month is W Goa, the brand’s 50th hotel worldwide and first Indian property. It’s set to wow not just with its prime location on Vagator Beach but also its stylish design and amenities. The five-star hotel’s 160 guestrooms, including villas, chalets, a Marvelous Suite and an Extreme WOW Villa (the brand’s version of a presidential suite) boast a trippy, kaleidoscopic design in keeping with Goa’s famous party culture. Rooms are painted in bright shades of purples and blues, and have chandeliers that look like the lights are melting from the ceiling. Inspired by the baths of Pompeii, the hotel’s underground Spa by Clarins has an Oxygen room, eight treatment rooms and a sauna room and vitality pool. On ground, there’s a WET pool deck, FIT gym and F&B outlets – Pan Asian restaurant Spice Traders, all-day dining restaurant The Kitchen Table, the WET deck bar, WOOBAR and Rock Pool. The W hotel is also tapping into Goa’s potential as a destination wedding locale with the 386sqm Great Room, and the outdoor landscaped area called Horizon that covers 418sqm of oceanfront and an additional outdoor venue called the Backyard sits below the 500-year-old Chapora Fort. W Goa too offers the brand’s Whatever/Whenever concierge service that helps guests make the most of Goa’s sights and events. Rooms from Dh783; visit W-Goa.com.
