The Yard, a new lakefront destination by Meraas, has just opened in Al Khawaneej. The 350,000 square foot development that is connected to Last Exit D89, includes a courtyard, an organic farmer’s market, a bakery, restaurants, shops, a lake, walking trails and picnic areas.

The Yard also has an 18-metre-tall windmill, a water mill, a wishing well, decorative vintage pick-up trucks, farm animals and bird houses adding to its rustic and quirky décor.

The design of The Yard is inspired Dubai’s agricultural heartland.

There’s also a 'Promise Bridge', to lock padlocks on, which we imagine will become an instant hit with the Instagrammers. The stepping stones lead visitors from the main courtyard to the lake and picnic areas and a 550-metre walkway.

Plus, The Yard has plenty of free parking!
