The UAE's incredible carnival of culture won't be away too long
Global Village has become a Dubai institution with thousands of families from the UAE and overseas enjoying the spectacular festival.
The world-renowned carnival of culture welcomes people from near and far due to it's budget-friendly fun, from food and shopping to rides and fireworks.
The 2025/2026 season will be the 30th in Global Village's rich history, so we should expect a few celebrations and surprises when the the doors reopen.
Global Village closed on Sunday, May 18, 2025, for the summer due to the rising temperatures and humidity. We are still waiting on the official reopening date but it is likely that it will be back open in October (the official website says October to May), when things have cooled back down.
The last season opened on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. Looking at the 2025 calendar, October 15 would provide a similar Wednesday reopening.
Will it be bigger and better than before? We believe that is very likely with such a momentous milestone being hit. It seems to get better every year with incredible growth over the years.
In the last season, there were 30 different pavilions that are said to represent almost 100 cultures.
It had 3,500 shopping outlets, 250 dinings spots, 40,000 shows and over 175 rides, games and attractions.
Expect more food stalls selling dishes from across the globe, rides for everyone from small children to thrill-seekers and a number of shops selling various wares from around the world.
The season could also be elongated again, as the site was due to close a week earlier but the closing was extended by a week to allow more people to visit. Extra firework displays marked the occasion.
We should expect to see more international artists and celebrities wowing the crowds, along with dancing, music, stunt shows and children's entertainment.
It started in a car park near the Dubai Municipality building in Dubai Creek. It wasn't expected to have such a long life as it was a relatively humble pop-up as part of Dubai Shopping Festival.
After proving popular, it moved around the area with sites in Oud Metha and Dubai Festival City.
It settled at its large site in Dubailand in 2005, so it will be celebrating its 20th year there along with its 30th season in 2025.
It is sure to be as popular as ever.
The cost of a Global Village weekday tickets for season 29 was AED25 for weekdays and AED30 for weekends. Entry was free for children under three, senior citizens and people of determination.
Prices for season 30 are yet to be announced.
