The ninth edition of the film festival will host film screenings, concerts and more
Dubai: Calling out all K-movie fans in the UAE! The ninth edition of the Korean Film Festival is back, with movies being screened in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
Films like the Oscar-winning film Parasite, The Host and more will be screened this year at Manarat Al Saadiyat in Abu Dhabi from June 19 to 22, and Mohammed bin Rashid Library in Dubai from June 27 to 29.
A collaboration between the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the UAE and the Korean Cultural Center, the theme for this year’s film festival is “music”, and will showcase a “diverse selection of Korean films centered on music to those celebrated for their outstanding original soundtracks, and rich cinematic experience.”
The film screening schedule for Abu Dhabi and Dubai includes:
Parasite by Bong Joon-ho on June 19, at 7pm in Abu Dhabi; and on June 27 at 4.30pm in Dubai.
C’est Si Bon by Kim Hyun-suk on June 20, 4pm in Abu Dhabi.
Secret: Untold Melody by Seo You-min on June 20, at 7pm in Abu Dhabi.
My Beautiful Girl, Mari on June 21, at 2pm in Abu Dhabi; and on June 28 at 5pm in Dubai.
Jaurim, The Wonderland by Kim Ji-hwan on June 21, at 6pm in Abu Dhabi; and on June 28 at 7pm in Dubai.
Dog Days by Kim Douck-min on June 22, at 2pm.
A Tale of Two Sisters by Kim Jee-woon on June 22, at 4.30pm in Abu Dhabi; and on June 29 at 3pm in Dubai.
The Host by Bong Junho on June 29, at 5.30pm in Dubai.
The Korean Film Festival also includes a K-movie OST live concert being held in both Abu Dhabi and Dubai, as well as talks with film and documentary directors.
