Dubai: Dubai’s much-loved annual summer extravaganza, Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) 2025, is heading into its grand finale with the Great Dubai Summer Sale (GDSS) Final Sale weekend - a spectacular shopping and family entertainment event not to be missed.

1. Shop ‘til you drop with ‘GDSS Final Sale’ – August 8 to 10

 This weekend marks the biggest-ever Great Dubai Summer Sale (GDSS) finale, with jaw-dropping discounts of up to 90% off at more than 1,500 stores across Dubai. It’s the perfect chance to snap up everything from high-street fashion, beauty products, and electronics, to homeware, jewellery, and kids’ essentials, all ideal for a mid-summer refresh or back-to-school shopping.

Major malls and retail hotspots across the city are participating, including:

  • Dubai Mall

  • Mall of the Emirates

  • City Centre Deira

  • Dubai Festival City Mall

  • Ibn Battuta Mall

  • The Outlet Village

2. Family fun at Modesh World — Now open until August 28

 If you are looking for indoor entertainment for the kids, Modesh World has returned for its 26th edition at Dubai World Trade Centre. Open daily, this family favourite combines education and play with themed zones, thrilling rides, live shows, and workshops featuring Dubai’s beloved characters, Modesh and Dana.

Opening hours: Monday – Thursday - 10am to 10pm,  Friday – Sunday - 10am - midnight

Tickets: Dh150 per playing person and Dh75 for non-playing person. Discounts available for Esaad and Al Saada cardholders. Free entry for people of determination and their caregivers

With unlimited rides and activities, its great value for a full day of fun under one roof.

3. Summer camps for kids — Running until August 31

Dubai offers a rich variety of summer camps that mix creativity, culture, and sport — ideal for keeping children engaged and entertained this summer.

  • Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children — Burst of Imagination camp (4–15 August) offers workshops in bubble painting, fluid art, sculpture, and more, with a focus on Emirati heritage and local stories.

  • Bel Remaitha Summer Camp — Active families will enjoy daily sports activities like taekwondo, swimming, football, and basketball at Bel Remaitha Club. Flexible passes start at Dh110.

  • Children’s City, Creek Park — Science, nature, and tech-themed workshops that change daily provide a fun, educational experience until the end of August.

4. Neon Nights at LEGOLAND Water Park

Make your summer nights glow at LEGOLAND Water Park’s Neon Nights, a vibrant splash party featuring lasers, neon lights, and a live dance show.

Taking place every Saturday and Sunday until September from 7pm to 8pm, it’s included in your day ticket price (Dh295 online, Dh330 at the gate).

Other Summer Splash Fest highlights until August 24 include live shows and poolside DJ sets, challenges and competitions, kids eat free, ice cream and frozen yoghurt treats at discounted prices and private cabanas.
