For the inauguration of its world tour, ‘The Quest: 270 years of seeking excellence’, has arrived in Abu Dhabi, celebrating Vacheron Constantin’s enduring legacy and mastery in watchmaking. The new public exhibition pays tribute to the region and the rich cultural heritage of UAE’s capital through an experience deeply infused with local design, traditions, and flavors. Set against the stunning backdrop of Al Qana in the heart of Abu Dhabi, this immersive journey celebrates the core values that have defined Vacheron Constantin’s identity since 1755, inviting visitors to explore the Maison’s past, present, and future.
The exhibition marks Vacheron Constantin’s 270th anniversary, celebrating the Maison’s legacy in watchmaking excellence since its founding in 1755. This milestone stands as a testament to an enduring commitment to expert craftsmanship, innovation, and haute horlogerie. “Reaching 270 years is more than a measure of time—it’s a testament to an unbroken commitment to craftsmanship, innovation, and watchmaking excellence. Since 1755, Vacheron Constantin has continuously shaped the world of haute horlogerie, preserving savoir-faire while pushing creative and technical boundaries. This milestone celebrates a legacy of transmission, bespoke creations for connoisseurs, and a relentless pursuit of excellence that remains as relevant today as ever”. Says Christophe Ramel, Managing Director, Vacheron Constantin Middle East, in an exclusive conversation with The Kurator.
During the holy month of Ramadan, ‘The Quest’ presents a special programme in celebration of this occasion, inviting watchmaking enthusiasts and newcomers alike to discover 270 years of history. Through a carefully curated itinerary featuring timepieces, calibres, components, and watchmaking tools, the exhibition offers an immersive experience that captures the essence of Vacheron Constantin’s journey. “The Quest is not just an exhibition; it’s an immersive journey into the world of Vacheron Constantin. Through exceptional timepieces, interactive displays, and artistic storytelling, visitors will experience the pioneering spirit and watchmaking excellence that define the Maison. Each section invites discovery—whether through groundbreaking complications, the refinement of Métiers d’Art, or the visionary mindset that continues to shape our future. More than a retrospective, The Quest is designed to leave visitors with a deeper appreciation for high watchmaking and a connection to the enduring pursuit of excellence.” empathises Christophe Ramel.
Beyond showcasing heritage, ‘The Quest: 270 years of seeking excellence’ fosters a deeper connection between visitors and the brand. Christophe Ramel explains, “True appreciation comes from understanding the expertise, precision, and human ingenuity behind each timepiece. This exhibition brings that to life by offering an intimate look at Vacheron Constantin’s creative process—its emblematic creations, intricate movements, and archival treasures. By engaging with these elements up close, visitors don’t just witness history; they become part of the journey. ‘The Quest’ is an invitation to explore, be inspired, and connect with a Maison that has always been dedicated to those who seek excellence.”
Abu Dhabi is honored to be the first city to host Vacheron Constantin’s 270th-anniversary exhibit, marking the exclusive global unveiling of a new timepiece and a well curated programme of immersive experiences that also reflect the emirate’s cultural richness and forward-thinking vision. At the heart of ‘The Quest’ is the Celestia Astronomical Grand Complication, a masterpiece that embodies 270 years of horological excellence. This unique timepiece, revealed for the first time ever in Abu Dhabi, features a celestial chart displaying the Abu Dhabi sky. Christophe Ramel explains how this masterpiece resonates with Abu Dhabi’s cultural and artistic heritage: “The Celestia Astronomical Grand Complication is a remarkable expression of horological expertise, where mechanical ingenuity meets astronomical precision. With 23 complications dedicated to solar, lunar, and sidereal time, it reflects the deep astronomical traditions of the Middle East, where celestial movements have shaped navigation, science, and culture for centuries. This timepiece is set on the Abu Dhabi sky chart and is being launched in the city for the first time—an exclusive tribute to a place that values both heritage and innovation. Its meticulous craftsmanship and astronomical complexities echo the region’s artistic and intellectual legacy, bridging past and future, tradition and modernity.”
