The buzz around the Apple iPhone 17 series is palpable.

It’s been lighting up tech conversations for months now, and with the launch date drawing near, excitement is building rapidly.

According to multiple leaks, Apple is likely to unveil the iPhone 17 series on September 9, 2025.

The Apple iPhone 17 is arguably the most anticipated smartphone of 2025, and for good reason.

Perhaps it's the memory of Steve Jobs or his legacy, the longevity, integration and look-and-feel of previous iPhone iterations, or the exclusivity of the Apple ecosystem.

Whatever the case may be, the tech giant has built a reputation for continuously innovating and raising the bar in the mobile tech world.

Why the iPhone 17 is the most awaited

The iPhone 17 lineup promises notable upgrades in design, performance, and features, tailor-made to excite loyal fans and tech enthusiasts alike.

For starters, Apple is introducing four models: the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max.

The rumoured arrival of an ultra-slim iPhone 17 "Air" model is stirring curiosity as it could replace the Plus variant with a lighter and sleeker form factor.

Social media and the internet are abuzz with leaks and rumours about prices, cameras, specs, and more.

The base iPhone 17 and the stylish iPhone 17 Air are expected to come in four colours — Light Blue, Purple, Green, and Light Gold.

The iPhone 17 Pro and the flagship iPhone 17 Pro Max, meanwhile, have “accidentally” shown up online again — this time thanks to the leaker account yeux1122 on the Korean platform Naver, a hotspot for Apple gossip.

Nobody’s saying these are official Apple CADs (spoiler: they’re probably not), but they could be giving us a sneak peek at what’s coming.

The leaked pics suggest the iPhone 17 Pro Max might pack a metal-covered battery — something rumour mill watchers have been buzzing about for months.

Even juicier: there may be two battery shapes. An L-shaped version for Pro models with a SIM tray, and a more rectangular one for tray-less US models.

In short? Apple’s battery game might be getting both shinier and quirkier.

The Pro and Pro Max two are also said to be available in five colours: Orange, Grey, Dark Blue, Black, and White.

Reported upgrades include a 24MP front camera, larger and smoother displays with 120Hz refresh rates, ProMotion technology extending across all models, and possibly Wi-Fi 7 support.

Enhanced processors — likely the A19 Pro chip for high-end models — promise improved speed and efficiency.

This tech cocktail, if true, sets the stage for a leap in mobile photography, gaming, and overall user experience.

Upsides and downsides: What leakers say

Upsides

Upsides include a sleek new design, potential for longer battery life, and Apple’s unwavering commitment to privacy and ecosystem integration.

The rumoured new colours and refined camera layout add a fresh, premium feel to the lineup.

The iPhone 17 "Air" could also appeal to those wanting flagship power in a thin, lightweight package.

Downsides

One could be the pricing, as leaks suggest the Pro Max model might cost upward of $1,600, which could deter budget-conscious buyers.

Some users might feel incremental upgrades don’t justify an immediate switch, especially if they own recent models.

Additionally, the transition to aluminum frames for Pro models could affect the premium titanium feel of predecessors, albeit lowering costs.

As the countdown to Apple's September event ticks down, fans worldwide eagerly await the chance to see which innovations Apple will surprise them with this time.
