Rugged adventure-ready smartwatch built for those who dive, climb, trek, and push limits
Strap in, adventurers, because Apple’s toughest watch is making a comeback.
After sitting out 2024 with just a fresh coat of paint (i.e. Titanium Black), the Apple Watch Ultra 3 is finally preparing to burst onto the scene — and fans of rugged, feature-packed smartwatches are in for a treat.
According to reliable "leaker" Jeff Pu of GF Securities (via MacRumors), Apple is gearing up to unveil the third-generation Ultra.
Satellite connectivity
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that satellite connectivity will come with the Apple Watch Ultra 3.
What’s new? Well, it’s the most rugged smartwatch from Apple's stable.
The tech giant is also expected to launch the Apple Watch Series 11 this September — right on schedule with the company’s usual iPhone-and-wearables launch event.
What’s expected?
New Ultra, new tech – After a no-show in 2024, the Ultra 3 is expected to bring real upgrades, not just a new colour.
Satellite and 5G? – Satellite connectivity might finally land on your wrist, along with (potential) 5G support for even faster stand-alone use, as per Bloomberg.
Extreme focus – The Ultra series is built for those who dive, climb, trek, and push limits. It remains Apple’s most durable, adventure-ready smartwatch line.
Yes, it’s been a long two years since the Ultra 2 launched in September 2023 — and while Apple gave us a sleek new finish last year, fans were left wanting more than just a makeover.
With the Ultra 3, it looks like Apple is ready to deliver.
Apple’s fall lineup is shaping up to be a techie’s dream:
iPhone 17 Air – A “refreshing and revolutionary” revamp of the iPhone lineup, alongside the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max.
“HomePad” Smart Display – A long-rumoured hybrid between a HomePod and an iPad could finally debut.
AirPods Pro 3 – Sorry, audiophiles, this one’s reportedly pushed to 2026.
If you skipped the Ultra 2 or you’re still rocking the original, the Ultra 3 might be your best chance to level up — especially if you’re into wild adventures, triathlons, or simply love telling people you can go diving with your watch.
Expected launch: September 2025
Rumoured price: Around $799
