Dubai: As the world waits for the release of the iPhone X, Dubai Crown Prince Shaikh Hamdan was pictured on Instagram nearly a month ago with a new silver model.
In this picture, posted earlier this month to social media platform Instagram, Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, is seen at a shooting range with his relative, Shaikh Saeed Bin Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum.
At the bottom of the frame, next to the binoculars, sits a brand new silver iPhone X. Apple’s flagship phone will not be available to the public for at least another week.
Distinguishable from the space grey iPhone 8 placed next to it by its vertical dual camera, it appears that the Dubai Crown Prince has secured his iPhone X early.
The picture was first posted to Shaikh Saeed Bin Maktoum’s Instagram story, before a screenshot of the photo appeared on Facebook on October 5.
In April, Shaikh Hamdan attended the opening of Apple’s third store in the UAE, alongside his entourage, where he was given an exclusive tour of the new Dubai Mall outlet.
Gulf News reported at the time that he was the first customer at the flagship store.
On Thursday, Apple told Reuters that iPhone X pre-orders were “off the charts,” despite its website showing that dispatch times had been pushed out five to six weeks for the phone — reportedly due to issues with the production of the phone.
